Received the Analytical Chemistry Litrature Award

Mr. Takashi Fujimori (a doctoral student then, a postdoctoral research associate at National Institute for Environmental Studies at present), Mr. Yuta Tanino (a master's student then, works at TAKUMA CO., LTD. at present), Associate Professor Masaki Takaoka, and Professor Shinsuke Morisawa (an emeritus professor at present) received the Analytical Chemistry Literature Award (The Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry) for 2009 on May 15, 2010.

Presented paper: Chlorination Mechanism of Carbon during Dioxins Formation by Using CI-K Near Edge X-Ray Absorption Fine Structure (Bunsekikagaku, Vol.58, No.4, pp.221-229)

They revealed the behavior of chlorine during dioxins formation using CI-K near edge x-ray absorption fine structure. This method is effective to determine the chemical state of chlorine in environmental samples widely. This method was recognized to have great applicability, which led the paper to the award.
